At Balby Central we pride ourselves on our strong inclusive ethos and rich cultural diversity which celebrates each child’s uniqueness and individuality. Our approach is driven by high expectations of learning and behaviour as we encourage all children ‘to be the best they can be’. We provide a safe and stimulating environment which supports rich learning experiences and where children can develop as individuals academically, socially and emotionally. Each aspect of the curriculum focuses on quality teaching and child centred learning to encourage our children from an early age to become independent, achieve well and make good progress. We believe the links we make with parents, governors and the local community are essential to achieve the aspirational goals we have for our children.
We are very proud of the children at Balby Central, for their creativity, drive and love of learning. The core principles of learning and respect for each other are driven by our Good to Be Green behaviour system and seven Learning Superpowers. Children are encouraged to use their learning powers in all aspects of their work in school and through the many opportunities we provide to ensure children have rich experiences. Residential visits provide varied opportunities for our children in Years 4, 5 and 6 and we strive to ensure that each class has a school visit in each term. We believe school is at the heart of the community and it is important that children have opportunity to visit different places of interests, the theatre, museums and parks. We value the impact of physical activity; PULSE teach different sports, dance and gymnastics across school both in lessons and at lunchtimes mirroring the school ethos of team work, skill development and to make learning fun!
